Zahra Sultan Nizam Mafi (‘Izzat al-Saltanah) writes to her brother, Muhammad ‘Ali Nizam Mafi (Salar Mu‘azzam), sharing family news. Specifically, she informs him that their brother and sister, Mahmud Khan and Ma'sumah Khanum, are doing well, but are not much interested in their lessons, since their previous tutors are gone and they do not like the new one.

Muhammad ‘Ali Nizam Mafi (Salar Mu‘azzam) writes to his sister, Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah, telling her that she will not receive the postcards he was going to send with Saham Nizam, her previous tutor, as he has canceled his trip to Iran. Muhammad ‘Ali Khan mentions a photograph of him that he is sending with the letter.

Muhammad ‘Ali Nizam Mafi (Salar Mu‘azzam) to Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah
Muhammad ‘Ali Nizam Mafi (Salar Mu‘azzam) writes to his sister, Zahra Sultan ‘Izzat al-Saltanah and describes his walk in the country in Switzerland, how he loves rural life and wished he was interested in manual labor and agriculture, but he instead is studying finance and must therefore live an urban life. He then recalls the time they played music on a gramophone in Iran. Muhammad ‘Ali Khan advises his sister to always see things in a positive way, and thereby enjoy her life. He further advises ‘Izzat al-Saltanah about learning French and describes the books he is sending her.

Letter to Riza Quli Khan Nizam al-Saltanah
The writer addresses Nizam al-Saltanah's concern about the illness of Mirza Mahmud Khan and his conviction that the writer had not asked for a doctor and not written to him. S/he explains the steps taken for Mahmud Khan's treatment, the people who have seen him, and that s/he has followed the andaruni's advice in detail; the reason for not writing all the details was to avoid causing Nizam al-Saltanah to worry.
